Marinated tuna with kiwi chilli salsa

INGREDIENTS: (Tuna marinade)

- 1 piece of fresh tuna steak

- 1 Tbs light soy sauce

- 1 tsp grated ginger

- 1/2 finely chopped red chilli

(Kiwi chilli salsa):

- 2 ripe kiwi fruit (skinned)

- 4 spring onions

- 1 green chilli

- 30g fresh coriander

- 2 limes

- 1.5 tsp soy sauce

- salt & pepper

(Saute'd Brussel Sprouts):

- 5 Brussel sprouts (halved)

- 2 tsp seeded mustard

- 1/2 red chilli

- 1 clove garlic

METHOD:

Place the ingredients for the marinade in a small bowl and cover the tuna steak with it. Let it soak while you prepare the kiwi chilli salsa and brussel sprouts.

Peel the kiwi fruit, cut in half and put into a large pan with the green halves of the spring onions and the deseeded green chilli. Lightly scald it all, then place in a blender with half the coriander, the juice of one lime and the soy sauce. Process until it is smooth and well combined. Taste, and season as you prefer.

In a hot pan, add all the ingredients for the brussel sprouts and saute until the sprouts are scalded and cooked. Place on a plate.

In the same hot pan, place your marinated tuna and sear on one side for approx 1.5minutes, before flipping over and searing the opposite side. Cook the tuna to your liking (I like mine quite raw). Cute the tuna into thin pieces and serve with the brussel sprouts and kiwi chilli salsa.

Enjoy!

Fun Nutritional Facts

Tuna is a fabulous source of omega 3 fats and protein. This helps with neural health and also helps prevent weight gain.

Be mindful not to add much extra salt to this dish when serving, as there is already enough sodium present from the soy sauce.
