Ground Cinnamon - A super staple!

How much do you love eating carbs? Bread, pasta, rice, quinoa, bananas, honey, the list is endless! Well unfortunatley, all of these foods trigger a response in our body to try and 'control' the rise in blood sugar coarsing around our body. Insulin is released from the pancreas to shuttle glucose into cells for energy. Any remaining glucose is converted to glycogen and stored in the liver. Now the power of 'ground cinnamon' is it is known to lower blood triglyceride levels (fats in the blood) and manage blood glucose levels. Essentially, a vital part of the diet for everyone, especially those who suffer from high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes.

Ideally, incorporate ground cinnamon powder into your diet when you eat carbohydrates, as this spikes your insulin levels. The properties of ground cinnamon will lower your blood glucose and stabilize your insulin levels, therefore, avoiding that ‘sugar crash’.

So, if you love your carbohydrates, a good way to 'manage' your blood glucose levels is to incorporate this powerful little spice into your diet.
